Mh. Looking at this again now - no, i don t like the grayed out background in panel one. A separation between the line-y Lady and line-y table and line-y background had to happen, yes. Usually I do this with grays or white outlines or strong cross hatching and line width. I had planned to render the Background here, but then wanted to emphazize that last panel in the second row. The moment of quiet and content. I would have loved to also animate some soothing rain against the window - but that Idea came pretty last minute and I know it would eat up my night now. I need to plan stuff like this ahead.
Decreasing line values the further back they are is a very nice trick to create depth and readability in comics, but it just won t work for twisted. Partly, because its on a black background. And I am pretty sure there has to be more detail and better lines, that those i had in first panel. Ah well, bad planning.
Oh yeah, I also deliberated including a big soundeffect like gabriel breaking down the door in the beginning of the last chapter. Nice reference, but also just a repetition. Aaand the actual crashing is still happening in the next panel and I would have had to put more sound effects in. I still don t have a clear guide to when i use sound and when I don t.
